Description

This striking vintage modernist ring is a superb example of mid-century Scandinavian design, crafted by the renowned Norwegian silversmiths David-Andersen. Known for their "Troll" series and the experimental Uni David-Andersen workshop, this piece embodies the Brutalist aesthetic that gained popularity in the 1960s and 1970s. The design features a bold, architectural bypass band with a distinctive matte finish that contrasts beautifully with the deep, mysterious purple of the gemstone.

The focal point is a smooth, oval Amethyst cabochon, bezel-set to sit proudly atop the wrap-around shank. The band itself is substantial, weighing in at 8 grams, providing a quality feel on the finger. The bypass construction allows for some flexibility in sizing; while it sits currently at a size 5 1/2, the open design allows it to be gently adjusted to fit at least one size larger.
