Vintage Taxco Sterling Silver Turquoise Chip Inlay Moon and Star Ring Size 8
- Weight6.3 g
Description
Celebrating the vibrant legacy of mid-century Mexican silversmithing, this vintage Taxco ring showcases an elongated shield silhouette adorned with crushed turquoise chip inlay. Originating in the artisan silver workshops of Taxco, Mexico, chip inlay became a celebrated technique in Southwestern and Mexican jewelry, combining vivid crushed mineral stone with hand-worked sterling silver. The face of the ring highlights a celestial motif featuring a crescent man-in-the-moon in profile gazing upon a central five-pointed star, all set against a matrix of vivid turquoise mosaic chips. Weighing 6.3 grams and crafted to a US size 8, the ring is constructed with a curved contoured face that rests comfortably along the finger atop a substantial band. The inner shank retains vintage Mexican workshop hallmarks characteristic of Taxco production.
