- Weight21.3 g
Description
Embrace the timeless allure of the American Southwest with this captivating sterling silver cuff bracelet. Featuring three vibrant turquoise cabochons, displaying a stunning blue hue and matrix characteristic of stones from the famed Kingman mine, each is securely nestled in a traditional bezel setting accented with classic rope detailing. This piece embodies the rich heritage of Native American silversmithing, reflecting a tradition dating back to the mid-19th century when Navajo smiths first began working with silver, often incorporating turquoise – revered for its beauty and perceived protective qualities. Adding to its unique story, the reverse side bears a maker's mark: "J" and possibly "Y". Research strongly suggests this piece may be handcrafted by respected Navajo artisan Jeanette Yazzie, known for her skillful silverwork. This potential attribution links the bracelet directly to a known artist within this celebrated lineage.
This beautiful cuff showcases a striking face that measures 2 inches by 3 inches from bead end to bead end, making a noticeable yet elegant statement. Crafted for comfort and style, the bracelet has an inner circumference of 5 1/2 inches with a 1 5/16 inch opening, designed to comfortably fit a wrist up to 6 3/4 inches. Its thoughtful construction includes flexibility for minor adjustments. Weighing a balanced 21.3 grams, it feels substantial yet comfortable. The split shank design adds visual interest, ensuring focus remains on the breathtaking turquoise, potentially Kingman, stones. Add a piece of signed, wearable history and artistry to your collection with this exquisite Southwestern treasure.

It will sit close and stay firmly in place, with very little spin or movement on the wrist.
Slight adjustment possible — once
Light-gauge silver can be eased a little by a jeweller to follow your wrist. Once. Repeated bending work-hardens the metal and it eventually snaps at the shoulder.
Set with Turquoise.
How to put a vintage cuff on without bending it
- Turn the cuff so the gap faces the underside of your wrist.
- Rest the opening against the narrowest part — the flat side of the wrist, not the back of the hand.
- Roll it on: slide one terminal past the wrist bone, then rotate the cuff around rather than pushing it straight on.
- Turn the gap back underneath once it is on.
The roll is the whole trick. Pushing a cuff on straight is what makes people force the gap wider, and the silver does not come back.
