This mark is the signature logotype of the Italian luxury jewelry house Bulgari. Founded in Rome in 1884 by Greek silversmith Sotirios Voulgaris, the firm adopted the classical epigraphic Roman spelling "BVLGARI"—using the Latin 'V' in place of the standard 'U'—in 1934 during the renovation of its Via dei Condotti flagship boutique.
On authentic jewelry, the mark appears in clean, precisely spaced uppercase serif lettering. It is standardly struck alongside official Italian assay hallmarks, including metal fineness stamps (such as "925" for sterling silver or "750" for 18k gold), the national identification cartouche (a polygon holding a star, registration number, and province abbreviation, such as "★ 2337 AL" for manufacturing facilities in Alessandria), and an origin mark reading "MADE IN ITALY".
Due to the house's prominence, the mark is heavily counterfeited. Authentic strikes are distinguished by their sharpness, consistent line weight, and strict alignment, whereas imitations often feature soft, cast-in lettering, incorrect font proportions, or misshapen Italian assay cartouches.
